ON THE QUESTION
OF DEMON ANGELS
COPULATING WITH WOMEN
TO PRODUCE GIANTS AMONG THE HUMAN RACE
Memory Text: “There were
giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which
were of old, men of renown.” Gen.6:4.
There are two very important points:
1. Scripture only defines angels as male, never female. Therefore, neither Satan nor his angels can
produce offspring. The Bible specifically defines angels as the "ministering spirits" "that excel in strength,
that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word." Heb.1:14; Ps.103:20. Only human beings were gifted
with the blessing of procreation and the joy of family life.
2. "The
sons of God" referred to the righteous branch of the human family. For churchmen to declare that “the sons of God”
only refers to angels denies the Scriptures (Job 1:6; 38:7; Jn.1:2; Rom.8:14,19; Phil.2:15; I Jn.3:1,2). And even if the verses
in Job do refer to angels as "the sons of God" this cannot be used as the means to pervert the lesson of Genesis
6:4. GOD purposely abbreviates the history of man by focusing on the two branches of the human race in the controversy between
sin and righteousness: The details of the many "sons and daughters" of Adam as well as his sons were not important
to the discussion of the LORD'S lessons on the spread of sin in the Earth.
After Cain murdered "righteous Abel" Seth was born. Said Eve of her baby: "For God, said she, hath appointed
me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew." Gen.4:25. And when Seth had a son named "Enos: then began men
to call upon the name of the LORD." Gen.4:26. These were "the sons of God" referred to in Genesis 6:4. Seth
restored the righteous branch of the human family leading up through our father Noah and future generations.
So, the simple and obvious lesson of Genesis 6
is that "the sons of God" were seduced into marriage by ungodly women who flaunted themselves with dress and makeup
in utter contrast with the daughters of God who lived by character instead of vanity: modesty instead of exhibition. The very
same thing happened in the history of Israel. Throughout their nation's history, Satan led the heathen women to infiltrate
the land and seduce the men of Israel, and thus, into sin and ruin.
What then is the core lesson to be drawn from Genesis 6:4? The prophet Isaiah stated "the word of the LORD:"
"To the law [the ten commandments] and to the testimony [the Bible], if they speak not according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20. Any speculation of men that cannot be substantiated in the Word of GOD
has no part of the Word of GOD! Not a verse of Scripture points to female angels, nor to the children of angels. Only mankind
received the blessing of the family heritage. Nevertheless, numerous speculations are promoted as fact and shared by the "Doctors"
and "scholars" of the church.
Concerning what we personally believe and share with others, a simple question must be asked, "Did I discover
this on my own or was it taught to me by someone else? And have I compared it with everything the Scriptures say on that topic
of study? I have friends who "discover" many ideas outside Scripture's guidelines, saying, "The LORD showed
me this" and "The LORD showed me that," when what they were shown stood in open contradiction to the plain
"Thus saith the LORD." While others continue to teach age-old traditions outside of Scripture's guidelines whose
origins are as pagan as were the heathen women, to seduce men to "believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed
not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." II Thess.2:11,12.
When GOD created our Premier father and mother, Adam and Eve, their stature was far above that of Goliath's 9 1/2
feet. We came from perfection: in beauty, intellect, sensitivity, and talent. The Hebrew definition of "giants"
means "over twice as tall as men now living."
In these words of Genesis 6 are seen the great stature of man in those early generations leading up to the flood of
Noah’s day. When Adam came forth from the Creator’s hand, he stood in perfection: of stature, of spirit, of intellect,
of moral strength, of creativity, of ingenuity, of strength, of dexterity, and of lovely symmetry in his form. To be created
in the likeness of GOD brought with it every gift of GOD.
The race of men who were of giant stature continued even after the flood. When the children of Israel left Egypt for
the Promised Land they encountered the remnant of the giants: “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which
come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Nu.13:33. Various
verses of Deuteronomy and Joshua remind the Bible student of this remnant of the once great stature that GOD bestowed to man.
Many generations later, David, in
his youth faced one of the very last of the giants: Goliath: a man whose height was 9 ½ feet. Many years had passed,
and David, being older and becoming too frail for battle nearly lost his life at the hands of one of these remaining giants:
“Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought
against the Philistines: and David waxed faint. And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear
weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David. But Abishai
the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying,
Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.” II Sam.21:15-17.
And so in the Bible record, we see how man came
from perfection, but with the entrance of sin, his stature declined and his age dramatically reduced: from 930 years of age
[the life of Adam (Gen.5:5)] to 70 years of age as it is written: “The days of our years are threescore years and ten;
and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and
we fly away .” Ps.90:10.
But
the promise is sure: All that was lost through sin will one day be regained. And this includes restoring the original stature
that GOD gave to His children. The prophecies read: “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise
with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” “And he shewed me a pure
river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street
of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit
every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” Mal.4:2; Rev.22:1,2.
